June 2025

Hello, Readers!

Summer is nearly upon us, but in all fairness, we've been having a truly beautiful spring already - I am more than here for all of this sunny weather... it's giving me plenty of evenings to get out running, a hobby that I've recently picked back up after years away from it after having my boys. I am using the Couch to 5k program and am in week 7 and getting on well so far!

I gave myself a couple of weeks break at the beginning of May, after my efforts during April and went back through some of my other material, rereading bits and pieces that I have already written. It opened my eyes to just how many ideas I really have had over time, and how many of them I have put onto paper, whether there be a few hundred words in a document or a few hundred pages. I have so many ideas, just not enough time to write them all down!

What have I been writing?

Closer to the end of the month, I got back into writing the second book of my biker romance series which I class as my current work in progress. The first book is due back in my hands any day now after its second edit, and I can't wait to check out what they've found and their thoughts - I've already had some messages about it which included "How could you just end it like that? I need to know what happens!" which made me smile - I can tell you that book one does end on a pretty impressive cliffhanger, which is why I want to get book two written so that I can release them simultaneously and you don't have a huge wait between books!

The first two books will follow the same set of characters - mainly because when I started writing them, they were going to be a duo with no further books - since then, the characters have made themselves known and wanted their own books, which is why it is now a fully fledged series in the making... I couldn't fit the first set of characters' story into just one book, so it is two, despite the fact that the rest of the series should be just one book per relationship.

I've been playing around with AI as I am wanting to try and get my book covers done this way for this series - what do you think of my biker logo possibility so far?

What have I been reading?

I have been trying hard this month to stay away from my Kindle and read some of the paperbacks on my to-read pile - I finished off one I'd had on the go for a while, then picked up the next in the series, which I devoured in just a few days. I was lucky enough to get my hands on an advanced copy of Tate James' new novel, which I was super excited about as she is one of my favourite authors and has just started a new series. I devoured that in just four days because it was super awesome, and now I have to wait until July for the second book in the series - she is the Queen of cliffhangers, and I should have known better than to read it before the whole series was available, but what can I say? I'm a glutton for punishment.

I also picked up the 25 year anniversary cover edition of Cirque Du Freak by Darren Shan because I am meeting him later in June for an event at the bookshop I work at, and have never actually read the books. It's a teen novel, and it's not very long - I read that in a day!

What have you read recently that you really loved? I'm always looking for recommendations, drop me some ideas below.

What have I been up to in life?

We made it out to the caravan for the first time this year at the start of May and the boys and I had a fabulous few days at the coast, playing on the beach and walking barefoot in the sand - basically loving life! If I could move to the coast, I would!

The rest of the month has moved at quite a comfortable pace after the rush of April. We have had a few home ed events, a few scheduled plans, lots of time for chilled afternoons in the garden, and lazy mornings reading books and playing board games. We've got to see lots of my sister and my baby nephew, which my boys are loving. My eldest looks so grown up at the side of a newborn, and my littlest is no longer the littlest in the family and suddenly looks huge compared to tiny little Panda.

One of the highlights during May had to be how many adventures we managed to get on with Daddy in tow. Whether it was weekend trips or the bank holidays giving us extra time together - the boys love having him around and when we're all home together, we have so much fun and make such great memories!

I'm always looking for great adventure ideas for me and the boys - We live in Yorkshire, so any recommendations would be great. We'd love to check out some new places!

Thank you

I will never be able to put into words how grateful I am for the support I've had over the years, from my family and friends, the people who have given their time to read and edit my books, and to each and every one of you who have bought and read my stories! Without all of you, I wouldn't be where I am today, because I'd be writing books that no one was reading, and where as I would still write, even if no one wanted to read them... I am so happy that I get to share my stories with you!

Till next time,

Angel x
