August 2025

 Hello, Readers!

Summer is upon us and the school holidays have brought the crowds upon us. I try to hibernate a little over the summer holidays as we don't need to be places when they're crowded. As home educators, we can make use of places during the weeks when children are back at school and everywhere is much more chilled.

We do however, still spend a lot of time out at the caravan. Our sleepy little seaside town never gets mega busy like some of the big beaches do. So we still get to have a slightly more relaxed holiday, even though it's busier than usual.

What have I been writing?

My Twisted Roses Motorcycle Club series gained another story this month. Another character that has already made an appearance in one of the first few books suddenly sprung a storyline in my head which I had to get down and is shaping up to be an interesting plot.

Book one is almost ready - I just have a timeline issue to fix and then I am hoping to get a reveal ready for you. Book two isn't coming on as quickly as I would like, but I have had a couple of ideas recently that I would like to incorporate so I am hoping that helps me to get writing on task again, as I have been flicking between stories and characters for most of this month.

I did a full read through of everything I have written in this world to get some facts straight, and I need to put a time line of events together to track ages mainly, as characters that have been mentioned in the first few books, need to age when it gets to their story as time passes differently in each book so far.

What have I been reading?

I signed up to Audible's free 30 day trial during July, and took my first step into the world of Audiobooks with Brynne Weavers, Butcher and Blackbird. This was an epic story, made amazing by the two voice actors who read it. Truly, if you haven't read this yet, consider listening, as they truly made the story come alive. I will be continuing with the series as well as checking out what else Audible has to offer.

As part of my job as a bookseller, we get sent advance copies of books to read and review ahead of publication - I was sent a copy of Bridget Collins new book, The Naked Light which is due out in September... I have loved her books in the past The Binding being one of my favourites, so I can't wait to see what this one is all about!

What have you read recently that you really loved? I'm always looking for recommendations, drop me some ideas below.

What have I been up to in life?

I reached the end of my Couch to 5k journey a few weeks ago, managing 5k in 40 minutes, which I was mega impressed with. My plans now are to keep running and bring that time down, as well as get to Parkrun with a friend and get an official time.

Me and the boys have been adventuring, as always, and visited some great places, with friends, with Auntie Hammy and Panda, Nannie, and even Daddy this month, making lots of memories.
We got to the caravan for a week, and had an amazing day with extended family, spending the day in their neck of the woods and catching up. I love being surrounded my the happy chaos of lots of family and/or friends, and we vowed to do it again soon. It makes me want to organise some meet ups with friends too - get the kids together for a big playdate out in the woods somewhere, or even to the beach!

Thank you

I will never be able to put into words how grateful I am for the support I've had over the years, from my family and friends, the people who have given their time to read and edit my books, and to each and every one of you who have bought and read my stories! Without all of you, I wouldn't be where I am today, because I'd be writing books that no one was reading, and where as I would still write, even if no one wanted to read them... I am so happy that I get to share my stories with you!

Till next time,

Angel x
