September 2025
Hello, Readers!
How is it September already? Like, seriously, I swear it was Easter a few weeks ago... This year is flying by!
It's "Not Back to School" week in our house this week, as my boys are Home Educated, so we are reintroducing some of our rhythms that we have relaxed somewhat over the summer, which included a trip out to The Deep already at their request. We have a full calendar of activities planned as all of our meet ups and groups are back on now that the schools have gone back. I can't wait for some of the things that we have coming up... and I also want to get myself back into a routine as I have let it slip somewhat this last few months and I have very little writing to show for it!
What have I been writing?
I have kept checking in with my Twisted Roses series, but I have found myself reading and rereading material that I already have. There have been some words added to book two as there should have been, but nowhere near enough for me to say that I am on track for where I'd have liked to have been at this point in the year!
I'd have liked to have gotten books one and two published by now, but that plan went belly up a few months ago... I am determined to have them both ready to go before the year is out though! Someone hold me to it!
I'd also like to get The Hidden World Novels reedited and formatted so that I can get them onto Kindle Unlimited alongside the Cursed Novels.
A side note, not actually writing related, but related to my novels - a friend of mine has been reading my books recently, and loving them, I might add... and has kept me in business this last few months by recommending them to friends who have then gone on to become new readers... She recently took a full set of the Cursed Novels to an event where they went up for auction, and sold for £85!! I'm not even lying when I say that my jaw hit the floor when she let me know - there were so many people who wanted to read them - I hope that the winning bidders enjoy them :) and the readers who found my books on Kindle Unlimited since are enjoying their reading!
What have I been reading?
I am a few chapters away from finishing The Fallen and the Kiss of Dusk by Carissa Broadbent, the second of the Shadowborn Duet in her Crowns of Nyaxia series. I read the third book of the series, The Songbird and the Heart of Stone first, as I had saved it so that I could read the duet back to back, and then fell straight into this one and have loved every page. I can honestly say that she has kept me guessing with every chapter, and although I'm only a few percent away from finishing, I genuinely have no idea how it is going to end! It's going to ruin me for sure!
As well as this, I have been listening to Leather and Lark, the second of the Ruinous Love Trilogy by Brynne Weaver on Spotify, and loved it, possibly more than I loved the first book, Butcher and Blackbird that I mentioned last month. I loved Lark's character!
What have you read recently that you really loved? I'm always looking for recommendations, drop me some ideas below.
What have I been up to in life?
August saw our chaotic family holiday where we packed all of us into a caravan for a few days and I loved it! I am very much a family girl and nothing makes my heart happier than when we are all together, making memories that I hope my boys treasure the way I treasure my own childhood memories of my family holidays. We struck out a little with the weather which meant there wasn't quite as much beach time as normal, but we still had an amazing time, went to the beach every day, ate ice creams daily and made some amazing memories.
Now, it is back to the rhythms and routines of education as my eldest would have started Year One this year, as crazy as that seems. He's still my baby, but he's growing up so fast. We will be resuming our groups and meet ups with friends now that the schools are back, making everywhere quieter!
Thank you
I will never be able to put into words how grateful I am for the support I've had over the years, from my family and friends, the people who have given their time to read and edit my books, and to each and every one of you who have bought and read my stories! Without all of you, I wouldn't be where I am today, because I'd be writing books that no one was reading, and where as I would still write, even if no one wanted to read them... I am so happy that I get to share my stories with you!
Till next time,
Angel x
